Ron Bird has joined beBRAND's Board of Advisors - 12 November 2001 +

beBRAND is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Bird to its Board of Advisors. Ron is an independent IT architect specialising in the design of interactive products.

After training at Central St. Martin's School of Art and spending his formative design years at Xerox with their Human Factors User Interface team, he has worked with clients such as IBM, BT (including the Concert user interface and interaction specification documentation), Reuters (where he set up the graphical user interface design team), Symbian (where he helped develop the Quartz product interaction and was involved with the Bluetooth implementation and development team), Silver Platter (the medical data base company, where he helped redesign their search engine interface and interaction), Siemens (he wrote their user interface and interaction specification document, hailed by its review board as the finest they had seen), TIAG in Hong Kong (where Ron lead the architecture design for the professional stockmarket trading product for The Stockmarket Channel, doing the same in Indonesia for Antara). In Japan he lead the architecture design for Yamachi's domestic stockmarket trading web product. Ron was the user interface designer for the world's first in flight entertainment system, first shown at the Paris Air Fair 1989.

Most recently Ron has been with Tarantella Inc. a NASDAQ listed software company, where he was their Creative Director.

Ron is presently with Hutchison 3G working with their user interface team on the next generation of mobile devices.

Ron has spoken at conferences in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He has lectured at The Royal College of Art, Middlesex University, Coventry University and Imperial College London.

His work has featured in Virginia Howlett's book 'Visual Interface Design for Windows'.

He is a member of The Chartered Society of Designers, Associate Member of the Ergonomics Society, The Association of Computing Machinery, The British Computing Society HCI group and is Past Vice President of The Colour Group.

Acquisition of Interaction Graphics Limited - 24 September 2001 +

James Sandwith has acquired Interaction Graphics Limited and is relaunching the company as beBRAND. beBRAND will help clients develop brands and identities in the digital marketplace.

beBRAND.net launches on 24 September and will be developed to offer companies an alternative platform for building their brand.
