beLOUD

beLOUD was conceived in 2006 as an interactive service introducing you to independent musicians and artists. Find new music, download it, build your playlists, and use our sophisticated networking & messaging services to meet people and in turn discover more music.

The plan was to join live performances and web technology in new and exciting ways. Online behaviour would determine what bands played live venues, where and when. Technology would be incorporated at venues to make gigs more interactive and enjoyable. We would stream live gigs and offer musicians a range of services to help develop their fan base, sell their music, and introduce them to useful collaborators.

beLOUD would also exist on your mobile phone where we planned a pocketful of amazing features so you can enjoy music on the move.

beLOUD was planned to launch online in early 2007 but is an example of innovation running ahead of the funding curve. beBRAND paid for the R&D itself but we could only go so far, and couldn't then find sufficient capital to get our service to market. All the while the ideas kept coming, and there remains a useful collection of intellectual property covering online music, live music, and the interesting technologies that can tie the two together.
